I’m Thankful For My Life

I’ve been celebrating another birthday and to me that’s amazing. You see a few years ago while working as a journalist in the north of England, I suffered a serious illness that could have killed me. It was only afterwards that I realised just how close to death I had been and that shocked me. That experience was life changing. It made me question who I was and where I was going.

After I recovered, I felt a need to live life more, so I used my savings to go travelling in the south east Asia, Australia and New Zealand. I saw some amazing things and had some incredible experiences like learning to dive on the Great Barrier Reef, walking on a glacier and swimming with dolphins in New Zealand. On that trip I met the man who became my husband and the father of my sons. I’d never been that ambitious about where I worked before, but when I moved to live with my husband in London, I ended up working for BBC (something I had never thought was possible until then).

When I had my own family, I realised there must be more to life than the here and now. I sought the Lord and I found him, or should I say, he found me. The rest is all history. I went on to become the Editor of an international Christian magazine after realising my destiny is in the Lord, and giving my heart to him. I’d never have thought I would be an editor, but it was what the Lord planned for me to do and while I did it, I loved it.

Four years ago, I felt led to launch my own business, Write Wai PR & Copywriting Services, which provides PR and content in the form of press releases, blogs, words for website and social media management for businesses and Christian ministries. I dedicate each day to the Lord and I am thankful that Write Wai seems to be going from strength to strength. I dedicate my business life, my home life and all I do to him and he “knows the plans” he has for me!

The moral of my story is don’t wait for your life changing moment, live your life to the full now. Seek the Lord and you will find him. “Ask and it will be given unto you.” Don’t compare yourself to others nor be jealous of what others have. Be the best you that you can be. Live as the Lord guides you and fulfil your destiny in him!
